    What is a Kojiri?

    The Kojiri is the fitting placed at the lower end of a Japanese sword scabbard, or saya.
    Its function was to protect the end of the scabbard, but kojiri could also be highly decorative and form part of a coordinated koshirae.
    Depending on the sword and mounting, Kojiri may vary in:

    Kojiri do not need to be in perfect condition.

    What photographs should i send?

    Please send:
    Front view, back view, side views, interior, close-ups of decoration, signature or inscriptions, kojiri mounted on the saya, if applicable, complete koshirae, storage box, certificates, provenance documents.
    Neutral lighting is preferable so that the surface, patina and decoration can be seen clearly.

    How the selling process works

    We assess material, workmanship, condition, attribution and collector interest.
    We may request measurements, close-up photographs or more information about the associated koshirae.

      I had been looking for a tachi with a lot of curvature for a long time and I called Supein Nihonto. They didn't have any tachi with the sori I was looking for, but I was treated with a lot of love and professionalism and we were talking for a long time. The next day I received a call from the shop, telling me that they had received new swords and that there was a tachi with a lot of sori.
